Institution-level harvesting is disabled, so this is the normal way a new department enters the system now — add it here, then it's selectable when tagging People, Designations, Courses and research submissions.

Merge a department name

For a variant a raw affiliation's own punctuation split off from a unit's fuller name (e.g. a paper recorded just "Department of Physiotherapy" when the real unit is "Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences") — confirm it here and its publications move to the department you choose immediately. Only confirm a merge you're sure is the same real unit; a wrong one moves publications under the wrong department.
